Today sees the launch of National Upcycling Day… what do you mean you hadn’t noticed? But National Upcycling Day it indeed is – and as well as sharing some of our favourite revamped pieces today, we want to see examples of what you’ve upcycled in your own homes, too. Jungle fever

Bring the taste of the tropics into your home in preparation for the sizzling summer ahead (…hopefully). This season’s hot new look is all about bright clashing colours, botanical prints, birds of paradise and exotic fruit. Think Rio, Havana, Hawaii and Jamaica, baby!

    Fun in the dining room

Here, they’ve made blue the centre of the display and then arranged reds and yellows together and white and black spines above the eyeline to let the coloured ones take centre stage.

The orange chair also adds a nice splash of colour and somewhere to perch while you take off your shoes.

A good service on hall lines…

    by  • January 24, 2016 • Inviting hallways • 1 Comment

As usual, no lines extend to the south…

Hallways – how much attention do you really pay to yours? Is it a stylish, decorative space in its own right, or more a dumping ground for coats, keys, and menus for more takeaways than you can possibly fathom existing on your doorstep? It’s easy for this largely functional part of our home to become neglected, and the thought of styling it can seem too time-consuming, given that we only ever really pass through on our way in and and out. But it doesn’t have to be that way, and this space shows that achieving a striking entryway and creating a dynamic first impression is as easy as a few well-chosen statement pieces.
